About the Poetry

Most of the poems in this collection were written earlier in my life. At a fairly young age I found that I was most introspective, most creative, when I was in solitude. At such times I would best recognize subtleties in my mind and in my heart, and could capture them. I would lose myself in the moment. Moments of discovery and wonder. And, too, moments of sorrow, pain, humor, love, loss and regret, and later wisdom. I would question everything, build and then break my own paradigms. And I still do.
This awareness has continued to grow to this day in my lifelong quest to understand a little bit of it all. I continue to be fascinated with experiencing vividly my own existence. I have endeavored to retain these moments in all my moments. And thus I may find poetry in all of it.
There is magic in all we experience, whether we want to experience it or not.
